To get the post, the CBI Officer Qualifications are:

  • Bachelors’ Degree (any stream) from a recognized college with >50% marks.
  • Height- Men 165cms/Women 150cms
  • Physical fitness
  • The age limit is 20-30 years to apply for CBI Sub-Inspector.
  • Age limit- General category (20-30 years), SC/ST (20-35 years) and OBC (20-33 years)

CBI- Course Details

For anyone who isn’t well-aware to do any kind of CBI course, one is required to appear for the UPSC exam. One can even go for CGPE or Combined Graduate Preliminary Exam conducted by Staff Selection Committee (SSC). But apart from this, one will also be required to have their bachelor’s.

By completing SSC CGL, one gets Group C direct recruitment for CBI.

Once SSC CGL exams are cleared, one is eligible for applying for UPSC exams. The exam will have,

  • 1st exam- Preliminary (200 marks) covering General Intelligence & General Awareness (1st paper) and Arithmetic Ability (2nd paper).
  • 2nd exam- Mains (700 marks) covering General Studies (1st paper), English (2nd paper), Arithmetic (3rd paper), Language (4th paper) and Communication Skill & Writing (5th paper)
  • After clearing both, there will be a personal interview and verification of documents.
  • 2 types of exams are there for 2 posts- Group A officer Exam for Civil Service (by UPSC) and Sub Inspector (by SSC CGL)
